Give
Give a Map to someone who needs time.
A document written from scratch about someone, for that person to read slowly and come back to. You can give it without knowing anything about them: only the email the gift should arrive at, and it is they who answer when it suits them.
How it works.
01
You choose the Map and pay
All I need is your name and your email. Nothing about the other person: no date of birth, no time, no place.
02
You tell me who it is for, and when
Once you have paid, you fill in a short form: the name and email of the person receiving it, the day you want the gift to arrive, and a message from you, if you would like.
03
On the right day, the gift arrives on its own
On the date you chose, the person receives an email with your message and a code of their own. They use it at serpaciente.pt/en/questionnaire when the moment is theirs, and that is how I know the Map is already paid for. Then they answer, and from that point I write it within a month.
The gift is valid for one year from the day it is bought. You choose the delivery date yourself, in the form. It can be tomorrow or months from now.
Which Maps can be given.
All the ones that are available. Open whichever one speaks to you and see whether it is the person you have in mind.
What people usually ask.
What if they never use it? +
The gift is valid for a year. If that time passes without it being claimed, write to me and we will see what can be done. It is not a rule designed to catch you out.
Do I need to know what time they were born? +
No. I ask them that, in the questionnaire. That is why all I ask you for is your name and your email.
Can they swap it for a different Map? +
They can, if it costs the same. If they want a more expensive one, they pay the difference. They only have to write to me.
When do they receive the Map? +
I write within a month, counting from the day I receive the completed questionnaire. The clock does not start at the purchase, it starts when they answer.
Can I give a Map about a child? +
You can, and it is a common gift between friends, and between grandparents and grandchildren. Whoever gives it does not have to be family: you hand the document to the parents, and it is one of them who gives permission when filling in the questionnaire. Permission is given there, and not at the purchase. From the age of 13, the child has to know and agree as well.
Can I give it without them knowing? +
You can, and it is normal for it to happen that way. But the Map only gets written after they answer the questionnaire, so at some point they will have to know. The Maps about children and teenagers have consent rules of their own.
I want to hand it over in person, not by email. +
You can: in the form, put your own email as the recipient, print what you receive and hand it over yourself. If you want the Map itself printed and bound, I will quote you for it.
I want to give one to more than one person. +
Buy each one separately, one per gift, and fill in the form once for each. That is how I make sure that every code, every delivery date and every message reaches the right person, with nothing getting mixed up. The one exception is two siblings: for them there is the version of Seeing with other eyes for two children, which is bought in one go.
Would you like to give one?
Tell me which of the Maps, and who it is for, and I will take care of the rest. If you do not know which one, describe the person to me in two lines and I will tell you what I think.
